Welcome to the Faulkner Group website!

We are based in the Chemistry Research Laboratory of the University of Oxford, and are interested in understanding how coordination chemistry can be used to control the chemical and spectroscopic behaviour of the f-elements. Within the group research is focused on developing our fundamental understanding of the properties of the f-elements, and in exploiting this understanding to develop new molecules and methods that can be used in the real world as imaging agents, diagnostics and tools. If you are interested, have a look at the research and publications pages on this site.

These webpages should tell you a bit more about who we are, what we are doing and why we think it is interesting. If you want to know more or are considering joining the group, come and visit us in the CRL or contact Steve Faulkner.

The University has released a podcast of one of Steve’s lectures, which gives an overview of some of our work.
